FAQs

What is Mental Health Coaching?

Mental health coaching is a collaborative approach that empowers individuals to improve their mental well-being and overall quality of life. It focuses on practical strategies, goal-setting, and skill-building to help clients manage stress, anxiety, and other mental health challenges.

Unlike traditional therapy, mental health coaching is more solution-focused and action-oriented. It emphasises the client's strengths and capabilities, empowering them to take control of their mental health. A mental health coach can help you with:

Stress management, anxiety reduction, improved mood, enhanced self-awareness, goal setting and achievement, building resilience, improving relationships and much more.

By working with a mental health coach, you can develop the tools and skills needed to lead a more fulfilling and balanced life.

What is the difference between therapy and counselling?

While there is some overlap between therapy and counselling, therapy often involves a more in-depth exploration of underlying issues and psychological patterns. Counselling tends to be more focused on practical problem-solving and coping strategies.

What kind of goals can I work on with a life coach?

You can work on a wide range of goals with a life coach, including career advancement, relationship improvement, personal growth, and overall well-being.

Will Hypnotherapy work for me?

While hypnotherapy is highly effective for many people, it's important to recognise that individual responses can vary. Factors such as your willingness to engage in the process, your belief in its potential, and your overall mental and emotional state can influence the outcomes. During our initial consultation, we'll discuss your specific needs and expectations to determine if hypnotherapy is the right fit for you.

Will I be unconscious during hypnosis?

No, you will not be unconscious during a hypnosis session. You will remain aware of your surroundings and can respond to the therapist if needed. Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and focused attention.

Will you make me do stupid things once you have hypnotised me?

Absolutely not. During a hypnotherapy session, you remain in control at all times. Hypnosis is a state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, but you will never be forced to do anything against your will. The goal of hypnotherapy is to empower you to make positive changes in your life.

Hypnotherapy

Can I get stuck in a hypnotic state?

No, you cannot get stuck in a hypnotic state. The therapist will guide you out of the trance at the end of the session. You will emerge feeling refreshed and alert.

Do Doctors approve of Hypnotherapy?

Many healthcare professionals, including doctors, recognize the benefits of hypnotherapy as an effective complementary therapy. While individual opinions may vary, hypnotherapy is increasingly being accepted as a valuable tool for mental health support.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Hypnotherapy is a safe and effective therapeutic technique when administered by a qualified professional. It is important to choose a therapist with appropriate training and experience.

Is there anything hypnotherapy doesn't work for?

Hypnotherapy cannot address physical limitations or medical conditions that require medical intervention. However, it can be a valuable tool for managing the psychological and emotional impact of such conditions.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that combines psychotherapy with hypnosis. While psychotherapy addresses mental and emotional challenges through dialogue and cognitive techniques, hypnosis allows us to access the subconscious mind to facilitate positive change. By working together, these methods can help individuals overcome limiting beliefs, negative patterns, and emotional distress.

What if I don't think I can be hypnotised?

While most people can enter a hypnotic state to some degree, it's important to note that individual experiences may vary. Some individuals may find it more challenging to enter a deep state of relaxation.

However, a skilled hypnotherapist can create a comfortable and supportive environment that can help you relax and focus. It's also worth noting that there are different levels of hypnosis, and even a light state of trance can be beneficial.

If you have any concerns or doubts about your suitability for hypnotherapy, it's best to discuss them with your therapist. They can assess your individual needs and determine the most appropriate approach.

Through insightful questioning, active listening, and goal-setting techniques, a life coach empowers clients to unlock their full potential and create meaningful change.
